Directors: Each center has one or more Director of Nursing to oversee all phases of care. These RNs have Pediatric Intensive Care and Pediatric Advanced Life Support training. They manage their respective centers for the well-being of the children, their families and the staff. They are advocates for all of the children.
RN (Registered Nurse): Our registered nurses have pediatric backgrounds. All RNs receive Pediatric Advanced Life Support education while at The Kidz Club. The RNs are team leaders and supervise their support staff to ensure that the children are provided all the necessary medical care as ordered by the supervising physician.
LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse): The LPNs employed by The Kidz Club are either assigned to a particular classroom, or are utilized as floaters giving essential care in rooms as needed. They take care of many of the medical procedures the children require. The LPN position is a 'hands on' caregiver under the direct supervision of an RN.
CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistant): The Kidz Club utilizes the CNAs to keep the children in a safe environment and as involved in the daily activities as their medical conditions will allow. CNAs work along side the children's therapists and smooth the progress of the different therapy programs. They participate in circle time by sitting with the children. Many times it is the CNA who gets wet on 'water day'.
Our staff takes an active and personal role in the children's progress and this lets the children develop and grow in a safe, loving environment. They are not standing on the outside - they are included, and it shows on their faces.
